小学校・中学校については、「私たちの未来へ〜10歳になる君たちへ伝えたいこと～」をテーマにした出前授業を行っております。
この出前授業は、沖縄県工業連合会が将来を担う子どもたちに、地場産業への理解を深めてもらうことを目的に、企業経営者らによる学校での講演会や児童・生徒の会社見学会の受け入れといった交流事業を年間を通して行っており、その講師として派遣される形で、代表の福富が本事業に関わっております。
また、高校や大学向けには、直接弊社にお問合せ頂き、日程等を調整の上、講演を行っております。

学校法人青叡舎学院 勇志国際高等学校（校長 桜井剛）は、11月の僕らのパッションリーダーズ特別講師として株式会社トマス技術研究所の代表取締役 福富健仁さんにお越しいただくことが本日決定しました。
福富社長は鹿児島県奄美大島出身で、美しい海に囲まれ育ちました。沖縄県琉球大学工学部出身で大学卒業後はエンジニアとして沖縄県内のプラントメーカーに就職。沖縄をはじめとする離島のごみ問題を目の当たりにし、エンジニアとして環境改善に取り組むため2003年に「株式会社トマス技術研究所」を設立。技術開発型企業として離島をはじめとした日本の美しい海を守るために尽力しています。研究・試行錯誤を経て様々なゴミを無煙処理できる小型焼却炉「チリメーサー」の開発に成功し、環境大臣賞をはじめ数々の名だたる賞を受賞。「チリメーサー」は現在、日本のみならず世界で活躍する発明品となっています。
トマス技術研究所の取り組み、会社起業にかける思いをはじめ、数々の困難など福富社長自身がこれまでの経験から感じたこと、そして社会に出て「働く」とは。福富社長のポリシーやこれからの日本を担う青少年に大切にしてほしいことを伝えます。
今回は福岡学習センターとトマス技術研究所（沖縄県うるま市）をオンラインで繋ぎ対談します。対談の様子はYouTubeにてライブ配信。

昨年12月7日（火）に、沖縄本島南部に位置する八重瀬町の白川小学校で出前教室が行われた。
その日、講師になったのは沖縄県のモノづくりを牽引する（株）トマス技術研究所（沖縄県うるま市）の福富健仁社長。テーマは「私たちの未来ヘ〜10歳になる君たちへ伝えたいこと～」で、4年生131名に自身の夢や仕事について話した。
「子どもたちにもっとも伝えたかったのは『夢を持つこと、あきらめない心、人のために生きることの大切さ』だった」という福富社長。自身は幼い頃、母親に読んでもらったトーマス・エジソンの伝記で「モノづくりで人の役に立つことは素晴らしい」と知り、小学生のときには兄とプラモデルづくりに熱中。大学の工学部に進学し、生涯の目標を「人の役に立つモノをつくる」ことにきめたという。
やがて福富社長が社会人になって感じたのは「沖縄の海のゴミや困りもののゴミをきれいにすることができれば、きっと社会の役に立つ」ということだった。そして四六時中、七転び八起の精神で研究開発に励み、人口の少ない離島でもCO2やダイオキシンをかぎりなくゼロに抑えながらゴミを燃やすことができる超小型焼却炉「チリメーサー」の発明にいたったという。
「この技術をベースにこれからも人の役に立ちたいという思いでモノづくりをつづけていきたい。まさにこれは私の天職だし、毎日が充実している」と福富社長は力強く話した。
出前授業の最後、福富社長は子どもたちに「小さな頃から甘やかされ育った子どもたちは、社会に出て困難に直面すると、すぐに挫折してしまい、会社を辞めてしまう。我慢したり、くじけずに繰り返し挑戦することが大事。だから最近では、夢を持ち、あきらめない気合いと根性を持ち、頑張っている外国人労働者を採用する企業が増えてきている。サァ、これから皆さんはどうしますか」と問いかけた。
沖縄のモノづくりの達人の体験談は子どもたちの心に残る宝となるに違いない。

Then, all the time, he worked hard on research and development in the spirit of seven falls and eight rises, and came up with the invention of the ultra-compact incinerator “Chilimaser" that can burn garbage while suppressing CO2 and dioxins to zero even on remote islands with a small population. 八商工機械電気科1年 トマス技研の福富代表が講和
八重山商工高校（新城英人校長、366人）は21日午前、トマス技術研究所＝うるま市＝代表取締役の福富健仁氏を招いて講和を開き、機械電気科の1年生29人が環境問題やエネルギーなどについて理解を深めるとともに、ものづくりを通した課題解決の方法を学んだ。同研究所は、煙を出さずに有害物質のダイオキシンを法規制の50分の1に抑える高性能の小型焼却炉「チリメーサー」を開発。
福富氏は、開発の背景にある離島の廃棄物処理や漂着ゴミ問題を説明、県内企業との連携とインドネシアでの事業展開を説明した。福富氏は「どんな人にもBeruf（天職・使命惑）があるが、自分の利益のためだけに働くのではそうはならない。人を幸せにしたいと思い、その意識を持った瞬間にBerufになる」と強調。
開発に至るまでの失敗や、風呂に入った時にひらめいた経験談にも触れ、課題解決のポイントについて「問題点の抽出と原因の追究、ひらめきが大切。イメージカ、考える力も必要」などと助言した。
同科電気コースの屋比久優太くん(15)は「チリメーサーについて知ることができ、勉強になった。問題が起きた場合でもそのままにしておかず、原因を突き詰めていける訓練を日ごろからしていきたい」と意欲を語った。
